The Night Before Christmas -Written For Jesus By Jean Thompson

'Twas the night before Christmas and all through the land
not a creature was stirring, not even a man.

A bright star was hung in the sky with God's care
in hopes that the Savior would soon be there.

The shepherds were keeping watch over the sheep
when visions of angels appeared before sleep.

And Joseph in waiting with Mary his wife
had just settled down to wait for new life.

When in the stable there arose such a clatter,
he sprang from her side to see what was the matter.

Away through the stable to open the door
he used the star's light to see a bit more.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen night
gave a luster of midday to objects in sight.

When what did the shepherds eyes behold
but tidings of the Savior the angels foretold.

With heavenly hosts' praises of cheer,
I knew in a moment the Messiah was here.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,
they praised God and sang and called Him by name.

Now Jesus! Now Master! Now Lord! Now King!
Now Christ! Now Messiah! To this baby we sing.

To the top of the heavens, to the top of the world--
now listen! Now listen to the message unfurled!

As the wisemen beheld this very strange night,
they met with an obstacle mount in their sight.

So up to Bethelehem they followed the star.
Gold, frankincense, and myrry they carried afar.

And then in a twinkling Joseph heard in the street
the ruffling and shuffling of the sheeps' tiny feet.

As the shepherds drew near and the wisemen came 'round
the tiny baby Jesus in the manger they found.

Jesus in swaddling clothes did wear
to make the child look ever so fair.

An offering of gifts was laid at His feet
to prepare life's journey He would one day meet.

His eyes--how they twinkled, His dimples--how merry!
His cheekds were like roses, His nose like a cherry.

His small little mouth was drawn up like a bow
and the hair on His head was as white as the snow.

The fingers of His hand He held tight in a fist
and the glory of God could be felt in His midst.

He had a broad smile and a round little face
that shone with love and was full of grace.

He was chubby and plump--a beautiful boy
and when I saw Him I cried tears of joy.

The times now fulfilled with the baby in His bed
led me to know I have nothing to dread.

He spoke not a word, so tiny was He
but filled Mary's heart with what was to be.

And lifting the baby close to her breast
she gave Him a kiss then put Him to rest.

All who visited the baby that beautiful night
were blessed by the presence of God's own light.

Mary and Joseph bid all a farewell--
the shepherds and wisemen the story did tell.

I'm Spending Christmas with Jesus this Year..Author Unknown

I see the countless Christmas trees,
Around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars,
Reflecting on the snow.

The sight is so spectacular,
Please wipe away that tear.
For I'm spending Christmas
With Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs
That people hold so dear.
But the sounds of music can't compare
With the Christmas choir up here.

For I have no words to tell you,
The joy their voices bring.
For it is beyond description
To hear an angel sing.

I can't tell you of the splendor,
Or the peace here in this place.
Can you just imagine Christmas
With our Savior, face to face?

I'll ask Him to light your spirit,
As I tell Him of your love.
So, then, pray one for another
As you lift your eyes above.

Please let your hearts be joyful,
And let your spirit sing.
For I'm spending Christmas in Heaven,
And I'm walking with the King!
